Games to play over WhatsApp

Your WhatsApp group is already the game's waiting room: all that is missing is the link. Nobody has to download anything or register; whoever organizes creates the room in the browser and pastes the link in the chat. Anyone who taps it joins with the code already filled in.

Together or remote?

Both work. In the same room, each phone is its owner's secret card and the discussion happens face to face. Remote (the friends group spread across three cities, the family on a Sunday), the room lives in the cloud and a group call (or the WhatsApp chat itself) carries the talking.

What to play

Imposter travels best over WhatsApp: everyone receives their word secretly on their own phone, and clues and accusations can go by voice note, text or in person. 3 to 12 players, 5-10 minute rounds.

For groups that would rather act than talk, Charades uses the same room-code system: one person acts on camera or in the living room, the rest guess from their phones.

Why no apps

Because half the group would never install one. A link that opens in the browser removes the barrier that kills 90% of attempts to play anything: "I don't have that installed". Here the least tech-willing person gets in as fast as the organizer.
